I joke, but seriously, why did Jeep manufacture LHD postal delivery vehicles?
There are all sorts of very rare Jeeps that occasionally crop up; for example, Willys reportedly made just five extended cab pickups for the Washington Forestry Service.
I guess that should be another Jeep post: quirkiest, rarest Jeeps...although frankly I doubt I’m aware of most of them, and by virtue of their rarity they’d be hard to research. Donald Rumsfeld’s unknown known unknowns.

I can’t imagine, but I do like the fact that this one is wearing John Lennon glasses .
I don’t believe I’ve seen those on any other Jeep, postal or otherwise.

I wonder if they tried to offer the left hand as a cheap delivery vehicle for small businesses. Given that I’ve seen parts stores use Toyota Echos as delivery vehicles the DJ-5 would’ve been big enough.
That truck is awesome.

That’s exactly right, the Dispatcher wasn’t an exclusively USPS product, they did try to sell them to businesses as delivery vehicles, though not with any real success.

Quite possibly, or perhaps for dense urban postal delivery where the drivers are getting out and walking anyway.

That Extended Cab is a unicorn... I’d have thought all they made were full crew cabs for fleet sales. Or, was that Jeep’s take on project management? “That’s just what they’d be expecting us to do???”

I found one where the owner switched it to left side.
